| Description |
The North Carolina State Government Internship program provides a unique combination of learning, working, theory and practice. The program enables college students to assert initiative and creativity through hands-on involvement and problem solving. 100 paid internships are available for 10 weeks each summer for undergraduates, graduate students and those in professional schools. Applicants must be permanent North Carolina residents attending a college, university, technical institute or community college in or outside the state to qualify for the program. Students must have a 2.5 GPA or greater on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must have completed first year of college. Students in a four-year college or university: Freshman year must be completed. Students graduating from a four-year or two-year program must be continuing their education in the fall. Students must have completed at least one year of law school to qualify for an internship specifying law. Students having previously served in paid internships with the Youth Advocacy and Involvement Office or the Legislative Internship Program are not eligible to apply. The North Carolina State Government Internship Program does not distribute grant funds. |
