Description Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), founded as Students Against Driving Drunk, provides youth with the prevention tools needed to address the issues of underage drinking, other drug use, impaired and dangerous driving, teen violence and suicide. This peer leadership program is primarily school based, but chapters may also be found in communities. SADD is made up of middle schools, high schools and colleges throughout the state. Local chapters identify the issues most critical in their schools and communities and work to address them through various projects and initiatives. SADD promotes positive youth development and seeks to empower young people to lead their peers toward good decision-making and healthy behavior. The annual SADD leadership conference provides training to chapter advisors and students, enabling them to implement model prevention practices in communities across the state. The SADD program does not distribute grant funds.
