Description Area Agencies on Aging develop and administer a comprehensive and coordinated service delivery system for supportive and nutritional services. Area agencies on aging administer the Regional Long Term Care Ombudsman Program. Area agencies on Aging also advocate for the interests of older adults through local government, academia, and citizens advisory organizations. Since 1973, Area Agencies on Aging have been affiliated with the 17 Lead Regional Organizations in the state.
Grantee Eligibility Older Americans Act (OAA) Title III community based service funds are awarded to counties through Area Agencies on Aging. Service providers may be private non-profit, for-profit or local governmental agencies.
