Description The program serves children birth to three with or at risk for developmental delays or developmental disabilities, and their families. Services provided include specific child and family services to maximize developmental potential of children. Relates to Division goal of promoting health and development of children with special needs. Children referred to the program receive eligibility determination at no cost to the family. Examples of early intervention services are multidisciplinary evaluations, service coordination, speech/physical/occupational therapy, audiology, assistive technology, nutrition, and health services. Frequency and intensity of services are determined through an Individualized Family Service Plan. The Division of Public Health is the state lead agency. The statewide network of DPH employed/contracted Children's Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs) plays a similar role at the local level. CDSAs either provide directly or assure the availability of the full range of services by contracting with other community based public or private agencies.
