Description The Long Term Care Ombudsman Program responds to,investigates and attempts to resolve complaints from or on behalf of long term care residents,as well as provides 1) ongoing training and technical assistance for over 1,000 county appointed program volunteers, 2) Residents'Rights training for LTC facility staff, 3) elder abuse prevention education for facilities and the public statewide, 4) information about long term care to the general public, 5) collects and reports program complaint data to the Administration on Aging, 6) promotes community involvement with long term care providers, 7)apprises public agencies, legislators and others on problems impacting Residents' Rights in facilities and makes recommendations for resolution of problems.
