Description The Division's Field Services Program has seven Regional Centers located throughout North Carolina and services are provided to all 100 counties. Customers include Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf-Blind individuals, their families and the businesses and service providers that serve them. Services include but are not limited to information, referral, advocacy, consultation, skills development, training and outreach. Areas of concern frequently addressed include making effective use of sign language interpreting services, understanding their rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act and obtaining and utilizing appropriate assistive technology. Equal access to housing, transportation, medical services, emergency alert and response services, law enforcement, the judicial system and many other public and private entities are addressed as well.
