| Description |
Guardianship Services are provided by local human services agencies to incapacitated adults in need of a guardian; and to individuals for whom the agency director or assistant director has been appointed guardian. Services include the assessment of an individual's need for a guardian; activities aimed at locating the appropriate person(s) to serve as guardian; and when necessary, petitioning or assisting the individual's family in petitioning the court for the appointment of a guardian for an adult or emancipated minor; ongoing casework with individuals for whom the director or assistant director serves as guardian; contacts with these individuals' families and caregivers; and completing required reports to the court. |
