| Description |
The Health Promotion Program works in partnership with local, regional and state health departments, community based organizations, academic institutions and others to develop healthy and safe communities. This is accomplished through policy, systems and environmental change, as well as through education, training, community engagement and social marketing initiatives. Emphasis is placed on collaboration and, when feasible, integration of work among programs to achieve common goals. The Program includes forensic tests for alcohol; injury and violence prevention; physical activity and nutrition; refugee health; tobacco prevention and control; and other initiatives to encourage healthy habits and promote healthy outcomes. |
