Description The HIV/STD Prevention and Care program of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health is responsible for prevention and control of STDs, HIV, and HCV and the provision of care services for citizens infected with (or affected by) these diseases. The spectrum of services offered by the program include (1)HIV/STD prevention/intervention services (primarily the Field Services Partner Counseling and Referral Services (PCRS) activities associated with both STD and HIV/AIDS); (2) HIV Counseling, Testing and Referral (CTR) and additional activities conducted by the Field Development Unit (focusing on quality assurance, training and development initiatives for local health departments, private providers and Community Based Organizations (CBOs)including the five CDC-funded Syphilis Elimination projects in North Carolina); (3) HIV Prevention activities (with funding for Community Based Organizations, initiatives for partnerships with other regional or statewide health intervention interest groups, etc.); (4) and AIDS Care activities.
Grantee Eligibility The program provides financial assistance to community-based organizations, clinical providers, local health departments and institutions of higher learning (both private and public).
