Description 100% of Home and Community Care Block Grant(HCCBG) funding is allocated to counties through area agencies on aging to provide community based in-home services, access services, congregate meals and home delivered meals services. Through the HCCBG, counties establish aging services priorities and determine which services will be provided. Resources are provided through the federal Older Americans Act and Social Services Block Grant, State appropriations and required 10% local matching funds. Special emphasis is given to serving minorities and socially and economically needy seniors.
Grantee Eligibility Funding is allocated to 100 counties through area agencies on the basis of an intrastate funding formula. Counties authorize community based aging services as discussed in the program description. Counties grant or contract to public agencies and non-profit and for-profit direct service organizations.
