| Description |
LIHEAP is a Federal program in two components administered by the Division of Social Services to operate Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) and the Crisis Intervention Program (CIP). All approved households receive a benefit from LIEAP in the form of direct payments. CIP pays heating or cooling expenses for families in a crisis situation. Assistance is usually in the form of payments made directly to the applicants energy provider; however, air conditioners, blankets and space heaters may also be given. |
