| Description |
The primary purpose of POMP, a demonstration project funded by AoA, is to develop and field test a core set of performance measures for State and community programs on Aging operating under Title III of the Older Americans Act (OAA). Consumer assessment surveys from NC and other funded states have helped AoA demonstrate that services provided through OAA are (1) highly rated by recipients, (2) effectively targeted towards vulnerable individuals who need OAA services, and (3) provide services that are instrumental in allowing older adults to maintain their independence and delay nursing home placement. Equally important, POMP has helped the Division strengthen its capacity for data management and use. POMP has enabled DAAS to (1) make revisions to ARMS, the data tracking system for OAA services, (2) become a part of the DHHS Common Name Data Service (CNDS) initiative which will link ARMS data with data from other divisions in the near future, and (3) train participating regions and local service providers to use outcomes data in program planning and implementation. |
