| Description |
Older adults who attend congregate meals sites are provided an opportunity to purchase seasonal locally grown produce with vouchers provided through the US Department of Agriculture. Eligible older adults are self-declared low income and live in a county that is served by a state-certified farmers' market. Participants are provided with vouchers in the amount of $36 to purchase fresh locally grown produce from market vendors during the 08 growing season. Vendors deposit the vouchers through their bank and the program is paid through the State Treasurer's Office. |
