Description VR is a statewide, eligibility-based program that achieves its goal through the provision of substantial services to eligible individuals. The scope of services includes assessment services, counseling and guidance, physical and mental restoration services, training, job-related supports and placement including supported employment, rehabilitation technology services, and information and support services determined necessary to assist the individual with informed choice and an employment outcome. An Individualized Plan for Employment is developed jointly between the Rehabilitation Counselor and the eligible individual which identifies the specific services required by the individual in overcoming limitations, meeting rehabilitation needs, and achieving the employment outcome. The program and services are accessed through thirty-two unit offices and two VR facilities strategically located throughout the state. Many of the larger offices have satellite or sub offices within either the metropolitan or county coverage areas of each unit. Services are planned, provided and coordinated by qualified, trained vocational rehabilitation counselors and related professionals and support staff.
