| Description |
The purpose of this grant program funded from US Department of Transportation, is to increase State, Trial, and local effectiveness in safely and efficiently handling hazardous materials accidents and incidents. The desired outcome is a comprehensive approach to Emergency Planning and Community Right-to Know Act (EPCRA), emergency training and planning by incorporating the unique challenges of responses to hazardous materials situations. Funding is provided to Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPC), with at least 75 percent of the funds for local planning and 75 percent of the funds for training public sector employees employed or used by the political subdivisions. |

Must be an active Local Emergency Planning Committee. The State is required to meet the cost share requirement (cash or in-kind). |
