| Description |
The 21st CCLC is designed to provide expanded academic enrichment opportunities for children attending low-performing school. Tutorial services and academic-enrichment activities are designed to help students meet local and state academic standards in subject such as reading and mathematics. In addition, 21st CC LC programs provide youth development activities; drug- and violence-prevention programs; technology education programs; art, music and recreation programs; counseling; and character education to enhance the academic component of the program. |

Funding is determined by Application to The Department of Public Instruction. After review to make sure the programs meet the Federal Guidelines, the applications are taken to the State Board of Education. They have final approval. |
