Description This program provides services for victims of domestic violence, including emergency transportation, shelter, referral, 24-hour crisis phone for programs, and advocacy for victims. Private non-profit (501) (c) (3) organizations or local government agencies are eligible. The objective of the grant program is to provide comprehensive services that are available and accessible to all victims of domestic violence. These funds may not be used to fund abuser treatment programs. For purposes of geographical coverage and cost effectiveness, the grant program has historically funded one program per county to provide services for victims of domestic violence.
Grantee Eligibility ALL APPLICANTS: In order to be eligible to apply for sexual assault funding, the applicant; 1) Must operate as a private, non profit organization or; 2) A local unit of government applying for a sexual assault agency; 3) Shall have provided basic services for a full year prior to application. (Basic Services are defined in Section); 4) Shall have an office location; 5) Shall operate a 24-hour crisis hotline; 6) Shall comply with General Statute 143-6.2 regarding audits or sworn accounting of receipts; and 7) Shall comply with all conditions as outlined in the Grant Award Agreement if they receive funding.
