| Description |
The county commissioners adopted an incentive plan in 1998 that is based on new jobs and investment that has allowed the county to be competitive; the Montgomery County Committee of 100 was formed in 1996 to support and enhance local economic development efforts. The EDC and Committee of 100, working with the towns and utility companies have completed the rigorous process to have two industrial sites certified by the NC Department of Commerce. The Certified Industrial Site label assures a client that the property is ¿shovel ready¿ and has no environmental concerns.
