| Description |
To encourage proactive and innovative programs and methodologies that reduce and discourage drug use and associated problems, and to enhance all aspects of criminal justice processing, including the incarceration and treatment of offenders and general improvements in justice system operations. Grants awarded under this program fall within the following priorities: law enforcement block grants; drug enforcement and interdiction grants; pre-trial services grants; re-entry grants; innovative criminal justice program grants; and investigative overtime grants. Grants are awarded on a competitive basis to agencies to start new and innovative programs. |
