| Description |
Women at Risk is a 16-week community-based program serving women offenders as a special condition of regular or intensive probation. Women at Risk works to reduce recidivism among women offenders and the need to imprison them by providing a comprehensive treatment alternative to incarceration. This program assists women to remain out of custody, to succeed on probation and to overcome the self-destructive and abusive behavior that brought them to the court's attention and the risk of imprisonment. Women at Risk services include weekly two-hour intensive group sessions, intensive individual case management and court advocacy. Women at Risk monitors the attendance and the participation of each client and provides individual written reports to probation, the court and other referral sources. |
