| Description |
Harriet's House offers an intergenerational approach to assist female ex-offenders and their children re-unite as a family and in the community. The program consists of three phases, Pre-release, Transitions, and Community.
In the Pre-Release Phase, women explore and learn practical skills that will increase their success in returning to the community. In the Transitions Phase, women experience a scattered site, supportive housing approach that enables them to re-unite with their children as they gain employment and develop responsible community living patterns. In the Community Phase, women and children are ready to be on their own. They continue to receive limited support as they strengthen their independent living skills.
Allowable activities include: education, training and development, counseling services, household support, drug screening, emergency housing assistance, CONNECTIONS support group, children's services and special events, family emergencies, home visits, storage, and background checks. |
